Current Versions of Wircd:
Dreamforge 4.6.7 wircd (HUB)
Dreamforge 4.6.7 wircd (LEAF)

Dreamforge 4.6.5 wircd (HUB)
Dreamforge 4.6.5 wircd (LEAF)

That's right, we finally have Dreamforge Windows IRCd versions 4.6.5 and 4.6.7 in BOTH hub and leaf. For those unfamiliar with the terms, a hub allows more than one server to link to it at a time while a leaf does not.

Alright, I've made quite a few changes in layout, I'd appreciate any feedback about them. On another note, thanks to everyone who has contributed to this page's popularity :) Please, anyone with a version or compilation of wircd NOT on this page, email me.

Welcome to my Windows IRCd page, the BEST page for the latest Wircd releases and newest versions. Everything you need is here. On DALnet I'm known as Logik, odd, DrJ, and countless other nicknames. As a channel operator in #ircd I am constantly hearing a great many IRCd
questions, but more than those, I hear a great many questions from windows users who want to run an IRC server on their computer. While I don't recommend running an IRC server on that operating system (DALnet IRCd runs best with FreeBSD) I made this webpage to help those users that still want to try a windows IRC server. The simplest server software for windows users is Conference Room by WebMaster Inc. But for those who wish to try a windows version of IRCd, I have provided all of the necessary software and information on this page.
Follow the links at the top of the page for the latest available versions of DreamForge Windows IRCD. At the top of the list above is a help file by Fleetadmi designed to help you with setting up wircd and things related to that setup. Follow the link directly below that for a sample ircd.conf file, a VERY useful file for anyone who has had difficulty making this file with the help of the example.conf, just save the file and fill in the appropriate places. Directly below it is a link to download LakeServ Win95 Services for the server. LakeServ services are by far the best I've seen, I'll try to keep the version up-to-date. I've also heard of Magick planning to port its services to windows, so I'll try to keep up with that.

I have also added a copy of the example.conf and the rfc1459, an outdated and extremely comprehensive overview of the IRCd and commands.

Many windows users start servers and find out that since they have dynamic IP addresses, their server address changes every time the connect to the internet. This can actually be fixed in 2 steps. One, get a Monolith Account. Once you have it, use the final link on the left to download the DynamoDNS program, which will allow you to always keep the same server name no matter what your IP changes to.

I also recently founded the channel #wircd on DALnet so for any additional help with windows ircd, feel free to stop in. Good Luck. :)
